The construction and refreshing of non-productive systems require a reliable and efficient solution to have the latest test data available. ENERGY4U GmbH uses SAP Test Data Migration Server (SAP TDMS) for this purpose. This approach allows us to prepare a reduced copy of the production data in a test environment, without having to make changes to the repository and administrative data in the target system.

In productive SAP systems 80% - 90% of the total data is stored in 10% - 20% of the tables.  Typically, these tables contain the transactional data.  The reduction in the amount of test data with SAP TDMS is done via specially defined rules. Depending on the requirement of the test environment, the data volume of non-productive systems may reduce up to 30%. The selectively copied data includes all necessary information and can be consistently mapped to the business processes.
